Splashers

In a Splashers class we teach you to teach your child to swim - how to confidently handle them in water and how to support them to independent swimming. Time is spent on educating parents on how best to introduce the underwater environment through child-led activities which is key to independent swimming. Classes offer a great progression as your baby gains head control and back strength and learns to communicate more. Between the age of six and nine months old, they have enough strength and co-ordination to try more advanced activities and can move into Splashers. The Splashers class is full of action, toys and songs – and of course lots of ducks! The progression in this level is visible for all to see, with the littlest ones learning from their peers as well as their parents and our clever teachers. A typical 30 minute session would include the following: safe entry into the water, a warm up with some bubble blowing (very important – teaches your child to exhale when in the water), kicking and splashing then swimming with woggles, swimming with parent, jumping in from side, swimming between parent and teacher.
